6th Annual Mountain Madness
May 29-31, 2026
Sullivan County, PA
A “Steak”-holder Appreciation Event
Friends, colleagues, lovers of liberty,
What is Mountain Madness? It’s part camping, part socializing, part conference, part Obstacle Course, part shooting, and just an all around good time.
Every year, I invite close friends of the Liberty Ventures Network to my property in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, to have an adult version of summer camp. Yes, there are s’mores and singing around the campfire. But there are also talks about what everyone is doing to advance freedom and flourishing in the world. Workshops on how to be better leaders, not just professionally, but personally too. And there is a 5K Obstacle Course through the woods that we have been building for years.
So, come on out to one of the most fun weekends you’ll have this summer and be part of the Mad Mountaineer experience!
Best,
Alexander McCobin

The Original Mad Mountaineers
Alexander McCobin and Luis Silva-Ball first met in 2011 when Luis was living in Venezuela and started Estudiantes por la Libertad, the Spanish-Speaking Americas arm of Students For Liberty, the organization Alexander was running, expanding SFL’s reach to Latin America for the first time. On their first call, Alexander asked Luis, “Are you sure you want to do this? Chavez and the Venezuelan government won’t like it. This would be dangerous for you.” Luis answered, “Alexander, I’m going to do this with or without you. I’d just rather do it with you.” And that, as they say, was the start of a beautiful (and crazy) friendship.
In 2021, Luis and Alexander went to Alexander’s Pennsylvania mountain property to train for Obstacle Course Races and support each other’s personal and professional endeavors. Since then, we’ve been opening this experience up to others and excited to continue evolving this to support amazing like-valued people meet and support each other’s growth.
